Introducing Parker Posey, a star from «Scream 3» who is high up on every Scream enthusiast’s list of desired comeback characters. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Posey shared that she proposed the idea of starring in an entire movie based on the «Stab» series, rejoining the Scream saga in a more self-referential and satirical manner.
Posey proposed an idea for a new Stab film. He suggested he could portray Gale in his current form, but also hinted at playing a younger Gale using all the Snapchat filters.
Reminded by the past, Posey acted in «Scream 3» from the year 2000, portraying an actress named Jennifer Jolie. In this movie within a movie, she was depicting the character of Gale Weathers for the fictional «Stab 3». Essentially, Posey was almost playing two roles at once, performing as Jennifer and also representing a performance of Jennifer that was mimicking Gale.
The «Stab» film series provides an inventive method for reintroducing any previous «Scream» cast members, particularly if they’re not portraying their initial characters. As of now, we’re unsure about how Scream 7 will blend the franchise, but it seems like Posey could be onto something fascinating. The «Stab» series has always served as the satirical «movie within a movie» aspect of «Scream,» enabling the franchise to delve a bit further and experiment with its own formula.
Luckily for fans of the «Scream» series, actress Courteney Cox (Jennifer Jolie) is also amenable to reprising her role in another installment. When asked by Entertainment Tonight if she’d be interested in returning for a new film, Cox responded positively, saying, «Absolutely! Yes, it was enjoyable.
The production of Scream 7 is underway, with its original writer Kevin Williamson serving as director. Actors Neve Campell and Courteney Cox are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming film, alongside more recent additions Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown. Newcomers in this movie include Isabel May, Joel McHale, McKenna Grace, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, and Anna Camp. Foley and Lillard are making a comeback after over 25 years since their last appearance in the series.
